About Me

Andrea Lythgoe

My name is Andrea Lythgoe, and I am a bit of a research junkie. My degree is in Health Education, and I have been a childbirth educator since 1997 and a doula since 1999. I have always been interested in research, but I am not a math person! So I set about learning as much as I could about research and how I could understand it.

I found that research does not have to be a mystery to the math-impaired. I created this site to share what I have learned and help other birth professionals to understand and critically read research papers.

Currently I have my own doula and childbirth education business, Pampered Birth, and I teach natural childbirth classes at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. I have spoken at the conferences of DONA International, Lamaze International, and several local conferences and events as well.
I have three daughters and a husband who is as busy as I am! In my "spare time", I enjoy reading, traveling (especially if I can see the ocean), and learning about photography.
